BWP Women Achievers Awards 2026 celebrates 150+ women leaders in Bengaluru

Bengaluru — Bangalore Women Power (BWP) held the BWP Women Achievers Awards 2026 on 3 October at Viveka Auditorium, Yuvaka Sangha, Jayanagar, to honour more than 150 women achievers from varied fields. The ceremony brought together women entrepreneurs, professionals, creators, leaders, business owners and social changemakers from across the BWP network.

Awards were presented across eight categories: Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle; Business, Finance & Technology; Arts, Culture & Experiences; Education, Learning & Child Development; Health, Wellness & Care; Homegrown Products, Food & Craft; Spirituality & Personal Transformation; and Sustainability, Social Impact & Advocacy. The organisers said the categories reflect the many ways women create economic, cultural and social value — from building businesses and careers to promoting arts, educating children, delivering healthcare, making homegrown goods and driving social impact.

Ms. Sowmya Reddy, President of Karnataka State Mahila Congress and former Jayanagar MLA, was the Principal Chief Guest. Other dignitaries at the event included Ms. Geetaa Paul (Founder and Chairperson, SGP Clinic; Co‑Founder, KO Clinics), Ms. Pratibha Saunshimath (Founder, Astral Pageants), Ms. Suchitra Venugopal (advocate, short‑film producer and brand ambassador) and Mr. Amit Pandya (fashion director, stylist and soft‑skills trainer).

BWP has evolved from a peer support network into a significant entrepreneurial ecosystem. The community now connects over 1.5 lakh women and more than 10,000 sellers and business owners through 500+ hyperlocal WhatsApp groups and runs over 150 community events. Its work received national recognition when BWP was one of 13 Indian communities selected for Facebook’s 2021 Community Accelerator Programme.

Swati Desai, co‑founder of BWP, said the awards are intended to celebrate the stories, struggles and perseverance behind each achievement rather than merely handing out trophies. “The initiative reflects BWP’s larger vision of helping women connect, build, grow, create impact and get recognised,” she added.

The BWP Women Achievers Awards 2026 served as both recognition and inspiration, highlighting women’s entrepreneurship, creativity, leadership and resilience, and encouraging further participation and peer support within the community.
