Mysuru Dasara Celebrates Women’s Empowerment:

Mysuru: Mrs. G. Padmavathy, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation, inaugurated the Women’s Dasara stalls and exhibition-cum-sales fair featuring products made by women’s self-help groups. Mysuru District In-charge Minister Shri Yathindra Siddaramaiah and other dignitaries attended the event. Mrs. Padmavathy was felicitated during the programme. The initiative aimed to encourage women’s entrepreneurship, creativity and economic independence by providing a platform to showcase and sell their products.

Mysuru Dasara, known as Nada Habba, is Karnataka’s state festival, traditionally associated with the victory of Goddess Chamundeshwari over Mahishasura.

Dating back to 1610 under Raja Wadiyar I, the festival celebrates Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage through royal processions, palace illumination and cultural programmes. Women’s Dasara adds to these celebrations by promoting women’s achievements and economic empowerment.
