“Kittur Rani Chennamma” Award 2026

Mrs. Ambika C is a state and central government recognised yoga teacher, gold medalist, Gandhari Vidya teacher, who has set a world record for the first time in the world in the High Range Book of World Records and Yoga Book of World Records by doing yoga 2 days before delivery during pregnancy. She has been rendering significant service in the field of yoga for 26 years, teaching yoga, pranayama, mudra yoga, laughing therapy and meditation to minorities, orphans, street children, disabled people, senior citizens, civil servants, school and college students free of cost.

She has imparted yoga education to more than 50 thousand people and has engaged herself in many public awareness and campaign programs and by providing free books, bags etc. to poor and orphan children, she has released a book on the achievements of women who have rendered significant service and work in various fields. And has been recognising and honouring achievers in many fields.. In recognition of her achievement, in March 2026, at the Women’s Day and Kittur Rani Chennamma Award ceremony organised by the Government of Karnataka, the honourable Minister of Women and Child Development, Mrs. Lakshmi R. Hebbalkar, and the honourable Chairperson of the Karnataka State Women’s Development Corporation, Mrs. G. Padmavati, recognised Smt. Ambika. C.’s significant achievements in the field of yoga and honoured her with the honourable “Kittur Rani Chennamma” Award.
