Being the apex camp for air wing NCC, this camp will witness cadets from all over the country competing against each other in various disciplines such as microlight flying, aeromodelling, drill and firing. AIVSC is an annual event wherein all aspects of Air Wing NCC training are assessed by officers from Directorate General NCC. The cream of Air Wing NCC comprising 640 cadets from 17 Directorates will get a chance to be a part of this prestigious event. For the first time in the history of this competition we have representation from the Jammu & Kashmir Directorate. Cadets make it here after a gruelling selection process and get a chance to showcase their capabilities and give wings to their aviation dreams.
The winning contingent stands to lift the coveted Chief of Air Staff All India Vayu Sainik trophy. Having been crowned AIVSC Champions in 2024, NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa, the host Directorate, have the task of defending their title. The event will be flagged off by Air Marshal Biju Mammen, Senior Officer in Charge Administration, HQ Training Command, IAF on 19 Sep 25. The camp is being housed in Air Force Station Jalahalli, with the competitions being conducted in various dispersed locations in Bengaluru. It is pertinent to note that the cadets aren’t here just to compete against each other, for them it is a life changing experience. Keynote speakers from the armed forces would be addressing the cadets on military leadership, while assessors from the Services Selection Board would be introducing them to the gruelling selection process. Centre for Leadership & Behavioural Studies (CLABS), a service training institute of the Indian Air Force would be imparting training on leadership skills to the cadets. As a pilot project, cadets would be exposed to drone training in sync with the vision of Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh AVSM VSM Director General NCC. The cadets would also be given an air experience sortie on Zenith Air as well as SW-80 Virus microlights. An educational tour to Air Force Station Yelahanka is also being conducted under the aegis of HQ Training Command IAF.
Apart from assessing the proficiency of training in Air Wing NCC, this camp will serve as a platform for motivating the cadets to join the Indian Air Force.
