Government of Odisha hosts successful investor roadshow in Bengaluru ahead of the Utkarsh Odisha-Makein Odisha Conclave 2025
The Electronics and Information Technology Department, Government of Odisha, organised an investor road show on 12th December 2024 at Hotel Taj West End in Bengaluru. This roadshow was organised in the run-up to Odisha’s flagship investment summit, ‘Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’, scheduled on 28th and 29th January 2025. Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Honourable Minister for Electronics and IT; Shri Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary Electronics and IT Department; and Shri Manas Panda, Special Secretary Electronics and IT Department, held more than 20 high-level discussions with senior industry leaders and discussed collaboration opportunities with them. Later in the day, a mega event was organized atthe same venue where the Hon’ble Minister and the Principal Secretary talked about the dynamism of Odisha’s business ecosystem and senior representatives from companies such as IBM, Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant, and Happiest Minds shared their company’s experience in Odisha. A video and a presentation showcasing the strength of Odisha’s industrial ecosystem and the evolution of its technological prowess were also shown to the audience during the event. Addressing the packed gathering, the Hon’ble Minister, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, said, “Odisha has diversified into new-age industries such as IT, electronics, and professional services, paving the way for a balanced and sustainable economy. By leveraging its resource wealth and combining it with modern industries, Odisha has created an economy that adapts to changing global demands. The combination of cutting-edge infrastructure, skilled talent, and a progressive policy environment is paving the way for Odisha to achieve even greater heights in the digital age. ”The Principal Secretary, Shri Vishal Dev added, “Odisha has developed into a major technological powerhouse. Many global and national IT and professional services firms now have their development centres in Bhubaneswar. The state has built an extremely conducive and investment friendly business ecosystem to facilitate their presence. Our policies such as IT Policy, Electronics Policy, BPO Policy, Data Centre Policy, and Semiconductor Policy offer one of the most comprehensive set of incentives nationally. The government’s proactive approach, combined with its technology focus, is ensuring that Odisha plays a central role in India’s growth story. ”The company representatives highlighted the support Government of Odisha provides to a company at every step of its investment journey, the generous incentives which are offered through policies, the skilled talent pool which exists in the state, and the rapid pace at which the state is progressing.The Government of Odisha delegation also participated in the TiE Global Summit in Bengaluru on 11th December where the Principal Secretary held one-to-one discussion with abendees from the business world and participated in a fireside chat on GCCs. He outlined the emphasis the Government of Odisha is puting on makingthe state a major GCC hub. The state is coming up with a dedicated GCC Policy and aims to establish five dedicated GCC hubs. These initiatives are a part of the Government’s larger objec4ve to increase the contribu4onof the services sector in the state’s growth and to create an enabling ecosystem for services in all Tier 2 and Tier3 cities of the state. The TiE Global Summit 2024 (TGS24) took place at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre from 9th to 12thDecember 2024. This year’s theme, “Puting Entrepreneurship First,” emphasized innova4on and collabora4onamong global leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors. The summit featured a variety of events, including keynote sessions, mentorship roundtables, and networking opportunities. The TiE Global Summit is a premier entrepreneurial event held annually, abracting significant global abention. Organized by TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), the event features a star-studded line-up of speakers. This road show is a precursor to the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025. The Conclave is the premier investment forum in East India, designed to drive economic growth and elevate Odisha as a globally competitive investment destination. The conclave aims to a bract both domestic and international investments across adiverse range of sectors, positioning Odisha as the industrial powerhouse of Eastern India. It will feature a meticulously curated two-day agenda with high-level plenary sessions, sectoral discussions, and thought leadership exchanges, offering key networking opportunities and fostering collaboration between global industry leaders, policy makers, and investors. The Hon’ble Minister invited the abendees to visit Odisha during the conclave and witness first-hand the transformation that is taking place in Odisha.
