Driver’s Day Celebration By All Auto Union

There are more than 3 lakh autos running in Bengaluru, Transport Minister Ramalinga reddy said that there is no Bangalore without auto drivers.

PeaceAuto, Adarsh Auto and Taxi Drivers Union, Karnataka State Private School Drivers Union, Jai Bharat Vehicle Drivers Union  inaugurated the 11th annual “Driver’s Day” on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Late Shankarnag, which was organized at Shalini Maidan, Jayanagar on Saturday in collaboration with the Aggrieved Drivers’ Forum.

The service of auto drivers in Bangalore is commendable. Shankarnag is still a beloved and inspiring figure for auto drivers even today and hoped that drivers would provide better service as per his example. Every year on behalf of Peace Auto, Shankarnag’s birthday is celebrated as Driver’s Day and they have been helping the auto drivers a lot, they used to give one free auto, this time they gave two autos for free.

Submission of Appeal:
Various drivers’ organizations, including Peace Auto, have submitted a request to the government that the government should officially celebrate the birthday of late Shankarnag, the fountainhead of drivers’ inspiration, as “Drivers’ Day”. All the drivers have an inseparable bond with Shankarnag. It is mentioned that his day should be celebrated by the state government.

Assistance to women for own auto purchase:
300 women were trained in auto driving by Peace Auto organization and these women were also given financial assistance to buy autos. Exponent company’s 15 minute charging plan.
What is more special is that the selected drivers who showed humanity and honesty in the driving profession were honored with gold medals. Also, scholarships were distributed to talented children of poor drivers.
More than 5 thousand auto, taxi, goods vehicle and school vehicle drivers participated in the program. It is special that about 100 women drivers are included.

Ravi Kumar, Jai Bharat Motorists Association President Chandra Kumar, Aggrieved Drivers Forum Raju, Jai Karnataka President Anand, program in-charge Raghavendra Pujari and many others participated.
