SPARSH Hospitals Launches ‘Hrudaya Ratha’ to Take Free Heart Screening to People Across Karnataka 60-day community outreach initiative to cover adults and children across Bidadi, Ramanagara and Channapatna
On the occasion of World Heart Day 2026, SPARSH Hospital, RR Nagar, has launched SPARSH Hrudaya Ratha – Heart Screening on Wheels, a 60-day community outreach initiative aimed at taking free cardiac screening and consultation closer to communities in Bidadi, Ramanagara and Channapatna.
The initiative was inaugurated by Sri U. T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, in the presence of Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Founder, Chairman and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, SPARSH Hospitals; Dr. (Prof.) Ranjan Shetty, Lead Consultant – Cardiologist & Medical Director, SPARSH Hospital, Infantry Road; Dr. Sandeep R. M., COO, SPARSH Hospital, RR Nagar, along with senior doctors and the leadership team of SPARSH Hospitals.
Through Hrudaya Ratha, SPARSH Hospitals aims to screen 6,000+ people over 60 days, comprising 3,000+ adults and 3,000+ children below 10 years of age. The programme will provide free ECG, echocardiogram and cardiac consultation for those being screened. A special focus will be placed on children below 10 years of age, with the objective of identifying cardiac conditions at an early stage. Children below 10 years found to have cardiac disease through the screening programme and requiring surgical intervention may be eligible for free cardiac surgery at SPARSH Hospitals, subject to medical assessment and applicable eligibility criteria. For adults identified as requiring further cardiac evaluation, SPARSH Hospitals will offer a special discounted angiogram package at ₹9,999, subject to medical assessment and eligibility.

The Hrudaya Ratha will follow a structured weekly outreach model, excluding public holidays. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will focus on screening through Primary Health Centres (PHCs), while Wednesdays will be dedicated to corporate screening programmes. Saturdays and Sundays will focus on neighbourhood and community screening activities. The programme will also undertake dedicated rural outreach across Bidadi, Ramanagara and Channapatna.
Dr. (Prof.) Ranjan Shetty, Lead Consultant – Cardiologist & Medical Director, SPARSH Hospital, Infantry Road, said, “cardiovascular disease can often progress silently, with people unaware of underlying risk factors or conditions until symptoms appear. A preventive approach through timely screening can help identify cardiac concerns early and enable appropriate intervention.
