MLAC’s Seed Ball Drive Reaches 5,000 Mark, Strengthening Green Mission

The initiative was inaugurated by Shri S.S. Naganand, Chairman; Shri K. Jairaj, Managing Trustee; Smt. Geetha Narayan, Trustee; and Shri Vinod Shah, Treasurer, who extended their best wishes and appreciated the college’s efforts towards environmental conservation. The Principal, Dr. Nanda Kulkarni, was also present on the occasion and encouraged the students to actively participate in such meaningful initiatives.
Organized under the theme “Each One Plant One – Sow Green, Grow Green,” the drive aimed to promote ecological awareness and encourage afforestation through simple yet impactful action. Faculty members and students actively participated in collecting fruit-bearing seeds and preparing seed balls using a mixture of soil, clay, and organic materials.
The hands-on preparation sessions were conducted at the college quadrangle, where students enthusiastically engaged in the eco-friendly activity. The prepared seed balls will be distributed during the upcoming Walkathon, “Run in Red,” scheduled on March 8 in connection with Women’s Health Awareness.
Dr. Abhinandan N, Organiser of the event, said, “It was a wonderful event. Students thoroughly enjoyed working with the soil and actively participated in preparing the seed balls. Through this initiative, we conveyed a strong message — ‘Each One Plant One: Sow Green, Grow Green.’ Small actions like these can create a big impact on our environment.”
The management appreciated the collective efforts of faculty members, student volunteers, and coordinators who worked tirelessly to achieve the 5,000 seed ball milestone.
The Seed Ball Drive stands as a testament to mLAC’s dedication to building a greener and healthier future for generations to come.
