MEDICAL TRAINING CENTRE, AIR FORCE CONDUCTS THE 7th IAF ALLIED AND HEALTHCARE SEMINAR

Medical Training Centre, Air Force, one of the oldest training institutes of Indian Air Force conducted Allied and Healthcare Seminar on ‘Collaboration and Coordination: A Key to Effective HADR’ from 22 to 23 September 2025. The seminar was aimed at providing the Medical Assistants with a comprehensive overview on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) and to understand the collaboration and coordination amongst various organisations during HADR. The seminar is the only one of its kind for continuing Medical Education of Medical Assistants in the entire Armed Forces Medical Services and is a unique event in that it is conducted ‘For the Medical Assistants, By the Medical Assistants and of the Medical Assistants’.
The Chief Guest for the seminar, Air Marshal Sandeep Thareja, Director General Medical Services (Air) inaugurated the seminar on 22 September 2025 and was attended by Allied and Healthcare professionals from various units of Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Indian Navy. Delegates from Karnataka State Disaster Relief Force also attended the Seminar. The seminar was telecast on both Air Force NET as well as Internet (Webex).
During the two-day event various scientific sessions and scintillating discussions were held on contemporary topics like Mass Casualty and Emergency Response, Medical Aid & Prevention of Disease Outbreak, Mental Support and Maternal & Child Health, Medical Ethics & Collaboration and Administrative & Logistical Supply Chain Management. Karnataka SDRF and RAMT of Air Force displayed the equipment used during disaster relief. The occasion provided an opportunity to engage with experts, share best practices and discuss innovative solutions to address the complex challenges of HADR. The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration, coordination and preparedness in responding to disasters and humanitarian crises.
