Director General NCC Visits Karnataka & Goa Directorate Focus on Cadet Welfare, Training Expansion, and Youth Development

Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), is on an official visit to the Karnataka and Goa Directorate from 23rd to 25th October 2025.

On 23rd October, Lt Gen Vats, along with Air Commodore S.B. Arun Kumar, VSM, Deputy Director General, NCC Karnataka & Goa, met Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, Government of Karnataka.

The meeting focused on strengthening NCC activities in the state, including the expansion of NCC units, development of training infrastructure, cadet welfare, financial incentives, and enhanced staffing and funding. The discussions highlighted the shared vision of empowering youth and supporting the national goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.

Lt Gen Vats also held an in-depth interaction with all Group Commanders of the Directorate. The interaction served as a comprehensive review of the functioning of NCC Groups across the state, during which the operational, administrative, and training matters faced by different units were discussed. The Director General provided valuable guidance and directions for addressing these issues and further improving effectiveness of NCC operations in the region.

Later, the Director General interacted with cadets, officers, and staff of the Directorate. He appreciated their commitment to the organisation and motivated cadets to continue exemplifying the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline.”

Lt Gen Vats’s visit reflects NCC’s continued efforts to enhance training standards, promote cadet welfare, and strengthen institutional partnerships, ensuring the Corps remains a vital contributor to youth development and nation-building.
