11th International Day of Yoga themed ‘One Earth One Health’

The ancient Indian Art from “Yoga” is a spiritual, mental, and physical discipline. The word “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit root “Yuj”, meaning “to join,” “to unite,” or “to yoke” — symbolising the union of the individual self (Jivatma) with the universal consciousness (Paramatma).
Yoga has branches like Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Raja Yoga and the ultimate goal of Maharishi Patanjali’s Raja Yoga is “Ashta-Anga-Yoga”. In his Yoga Sutras, he has completely explained the 8 steps of sadhana, Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi.

Ashtanga Yoga: –
Yama: – That is, social ethical restrictions, Niyama: – Practices of self-restraints, Asana – Pranayama – Pratyahara: – These play an important role in turning inward from the senses of the outside world through body posture, breath control, mind control, Dharana – Dhyana and Samadhi: – The mind with sense control, introverted, concentrated and with pure consciousness, experiencing the state of Samadhi, the ultimate state of Ashtanga Yoga. The union of Supreme Soul, yoga is the medicine for the physical and mental health of a human being living on earth.
