16 People Secure Government Jobs in a Short Period

Bangalore:* Under the aegis of the Directorate of Minorities, 16 candidates undergoing IAS/KAS training have secured government jobs. Candidates selected from all over the state who are receiving training at the coaching center started at the Hajj Bhavan have successfully cleared exams and secured government jobs in various departments, including the police.

During the department's progress review meeting held on Monday at the Directorate of Minorities' auditorium, Minority Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan highlighted that the coaching center, established for the bright future of community candidates with higher education, has seen 16 candidates secure government jobs in a very short period. He stated that this is a positive development, and the goal is to provide quality training so that at least 50 candidates can pass the IAS exams.

He further mentioned that scholarships amounting to ₹161 crore have been awarded to five lakh students in the 2023-24 academic year to support the education of community students. Out of the department's allocated budget of ₹1535 crore, ₹1525 crore has been spent on development projects, achieving a progress rate of 99.75%.

The minister also expressed appreciation for the good results achieved by residential colleges under the Directorate of Minorities and the APJ Kalam Residential Schools. In the PUC exams at residential colleges, 1869 out of 1908 students passed, with 686 students securing distinction and 1118 students securing first class, resulting in a pass percentage of 98%. For the first time, in the CBSE curriculum started at APJ Kalam Residential School, 1183 out of 1228 students passed, with 20 students securing distinction and 369 students securing first class, achieving a pass percentage of 97%. In residential schools following the state curriculum, a pass percentage of 91.20% was recorded. The officials provided these details, and the minister expressed his appreciation for the results.
