IIHMR Bangalore Welcomes 2024-2026 Batch of PGDM (Hospital and Health Management) with Prestigious Inauguration Event

Bengaluru: The Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) Bangalore, the southern campus of the Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur – Society inaugurated the 2024-2026 batch of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Hospital and Health Management in a grand ceremony today. This PGDM program offers specializations in four areas: hospital management, health management, health IT management, and pharmaceutical management. The event marked the auspicious beginning of the 15th batch of students, who are determined to make a significant impact in the healthcare industry. The campus buzzed with excitement as the young and talented students took their seats, filled with dreams and aspirations. Proud parents present in the campus watched as their children embarked on this transformative journey.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Gyan Chandra Kashyap, Associate Professor and Faculty In-Charge - Academics and Student Affairs. Dr. Gyan expressed his pleasure in welcoming the new batch of students and highlighted the institute's dedication to providing a world-class education. He emphasized that the program equips students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the dynamic healthcare industry.

Dr. Usha Manjunath, Professor, Director warmly welcomed the new batch of students during her inaugural address. She outlined the key verticals under which IIHMR Bangalore operates: Academics, Research, Training and Consulting. Additionally, she discussed IIHMR’s efforts in digital health, specifically mentioning ADMIRE - the Centre for Advancing Digital Health. ADMIRE focuses on several key areas, including the Research and Development Hub, the Skilling and MedTech Testing Hub, the Digi Health Data and AI (DHDAI) Lab, and the Innovation Cel.

The highlight of the ceremony was the address by the honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Manish Trivedi, Hospital Director, Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. Ltd, and guest of honour Dr. Anupama Shetty, Mission Director, Biocon Foundation. During his speech, Mr. Manish shared his experiences with IIHMR alumni who hold prominent positions in various healthcare organizations, including hospitals and consulting firms. He encouraged the incoming students to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by IIHMR Bangalore, such as research publications, healthcare projects, and digital health initiatives. Mr. Manish also emphasized the growing shift towards big data in the healthcare industry and the necessity of artificial intelligence to analyze and interpret this data. Dr. Anupama shared her personal journey to inspire the students, detailing her career transition from a hospital management professional to a role in corporate social responsibility within healthcare organizations. She emphasized the importance of having a mission statement to guide them and encouraged the students to maintain a broader perspective in life.
