Bengaluru,: Women in modern society must be empowered. Special focus is a must towards women’s health and education in order to make themselves reliant on the atma nirbhar Bharat (self reliant India), said Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandi Ben Patel.

Participating at a symposium on “Women Empowerment: From Vision to Action” on June 17, under the aegis of APS College of Engineering at the Prof. N. Ananthachar Auditorium, APS Education Trust, N.R colony she highlighted the importance of supporting women to become ‘Atma Nirbhar Naari’. Empowering women makes the society and nation progress with ease.
She stressed the need to educate about cervical cancer through vaccination for teenagers and discussed the importance of menstrual health and welfare schemes for pregnant women. Additionally, she shed light on the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative.

Addressing the existing disparities in girls’ education she emphasised the need to provide opportunities for young women in the health and education sectors.

Earlier, CA Dr. Vishnu Bharath Alampalli, President of APSET, addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of educating women and shaping a cultured and empowered generation that enriches our nation. He quoted, “Educating women educates the whole institution.”
He further emphasized on the recent progress of APS Institutions.

The programme was attended by CA Dr. Vishnu Bharath Alampalli, President of APSET, Prof. A Prakash, General Secretary of APSET, A.P. Acharya, Life Trustee, along with office bearers, board of trustees, principals, vice-principals, teaching staff, and a large number of students from all APS Institutions.
Prof. S.C. Sharma, Vice-President of APSET, welcomed the Chief Guest and provided a brief introduction.
