Bengaluru : The Institute of Company Secretaries of India organizes its 2nd National Women’s Conference in Bengaluru. Acknowledging the pivotal role women play in propelling economic and social advancements, the conference aims to celebrate their noteworthy contribution across social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. The theme of the two-day (22-23 March 2024) National Women’s Conference is ‘Inspire Women Leadership - Accelerate Progress’.
Speaking at the occasion, Ms. Vibha Padalkar, Managing Director & CEO, HDFC Life appreciated and congratulated the ICSI for organizing 2nd National Women’s Conference. She said “Company Secretaries are torch bearer of corporate governance, working hard behind the scene. It is good that many listed companies today have more women participation than mandated by SEBI. Companies which have more women are successful, profitable, have more expansion and customer outreach. Women who have excelled in their life should act as guiding light for other aspiring women and pass on the guidance to make life of other better. A lot is being done for the progress of the women so far but lot more needs to be done”

Acknowledging the role of Women Company Secretaries, CS B Narasimhan, President, the ICSI said, “Currently women account for nearly 50% of Company Secretaries (CS) in India and ICSI is working out a scheme to create more opportunities for them. The Institute has always been at the forefront when it comes to women’s empowerment. ICSI inspire and accelerate progress by promoting women leadership, ensuring equal opportunities, and breaking down barriers that hinder their advancement. In fact, important departments at the ICSI are also led by Women”.
The theme of the 2nd National Women’s Conference “Inspire Women Leadership – Accelerate Progress” embodies the spirit to celebrate women’s achievements and honour their legacy that will inspire the future generations of women to strive for excellence while rewriting the future into a more just and equitable world for all.
