KSRTC distributes Accident Insurance Relief Compensation of Rs. 1 crore each to the dependents of 4 employees. So far including this 17 employees have been distributed compensation.

Sri Ramalinga Reddy, Hon'ble Transport and Mujarai Minister and Hon'ble Chairman, KSRTC have distributed compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the dependents of 4 employees who died in an accident while on duty, Rs 10 lakhs each to the dependents of 23 employees who died due to various ailments and Rs 10 lakh each to the dependents of 4 passengers who died in an accident while traveling in
the KSRTC buses.
Sri Ramalinga Reddy, Hon'ble Transport and Mujarai Minister said that the corporation has designed and implemented several programs for the welfare of workers and passengers. The life of the deceased is precious and cannot be brought back. But the plan devised by the corporation for the financial self-sufficiency of their family is far-sighted. He urged the family members to use the amount for their children education and house building and not to waste it. He congratulated the workers, officers and labour leaders of the corporation who played a major role in successful implementation the Shakti scheme. He informed the Managing Director to explore possibility of enhancing scholarship amount further under Vidya Chetana
scheme.
Sri S R Srinivas (Vasu), MLA Gubbi and Hon’ble Chairman, KSRTC said that the staff working in the corporation are hardworking and should be given all the facilities they deserve. He said that the compensation amount distributed today should be properly utilized by the family to maintain the financial self-sufficiency and health of the family.

1) Saarige Suraksha Rs. 1 Crore Accident Compensation Insurance Scheme KSRTC has introduced Rs 1 crore accident relief insurance scheme to
provide financial stability to the dependents of the deceased who lost their life or physically disabled in accident occurred while on duty and off duty.
So far, the families of 13 employees have been distributed with Rs. 1 crore accident insurance and today 04 deceased employees' dependents were
distributed accident compensation amount of Rs.1 crore each.

1) Mr. Rajaiah, Driver-Cum-Conductor, Token No: 1386, Arakalagudu Depot, Hassan Division, died due to personal accident on 07.08.2023. An accident
compensation insurance cheque of Rs.1 Crores is being given to the dependents of the deceased. In addition to this, a total of Rs.20,82,885/- has already been given to them by the Corporation towards gratuity, Provident Fund, Employees' Family Welfare Scheme, DRBF and Group Insurance Scheme.

2) Shri Shivalingakumar, Driver-Cum-Conductor, Token No: 4395, Hunsur Depot, Mysore Rural Division, died on: 05.09.2023 due to personal accident. An accident compensation cheque of Rs.1 Crore is being given to the dependents of the deceased. In addition to this, a total of Rs.15,70,219/- has already been given to them by the Corporation towards gratuity, Provident Fund, Employees' Family Welfare Scheme, DRBF and Group Insurance Scheme.

3) Shri Puneeth KS, Driver-Cum-Conductor, Token No: 2251, Tipaturu Depot, Tumkur Division, died due to personal accident on 19.11.2023. An accident
compensation cheque of Rs.1 crore is being given to the dependents of the deceased. In addition to this, a total of Rs.13,60,872/- has already been given to them by the Corporation towards gratuity, Provident Fund, Employees' Family Welfare Scheme, DRBF and Group Insurance Scheme.

4) Mr. Gaddeppa Gaddi, Driver- Cum-Conductor, Token No:392, Kadur Unit, Chikkamagaluru Division, died on 18.01.2024 due to personal accident. An accident compensation cheque of Rs.1 crore is being given to the dependents of the deceased. In addition to this, a total of Rs. 13,34,593/- has already been given to them by the Corporation towards gratuity, Provident Fund, Employees' Family Welfare Scheme, DRBF and Group Insurance Scheme.

2) Employees' Family Welfare Compensation Scheme:

Realizing the fact that the number of employees died due to heart attack, cancer, stroke and other reasons is increasing in recent times, considering the difficulties experienced by the dependents of the family, with the good intention of providing a large amount of compensation to help them and as there were demand from various labour unions, the amount of compensation given under the employees' family welfare scheme which was earlier at Rs. 3 lakhs has been increased to Rs.10 lakhs w.e.f., 01.11.2023.
Under this revised compensation scheme, a compensation of Rs.10 lakhs has been given so far in 16 cases, and today a compensation cheque of Rs.10.00 lakhs each is distributed to the family members of the eligible cases of 23 staff who died in the months after December 2023. (Details enclosed)

3) Distribution of compensation of Rs.10 lakh each to the dependents of 04 passengers who died in an accident while traveling in KSRTC vehicles.
When the buses of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation met in an accident and the passengers traveling in the Corporation's buses unfortunately die, a compensation of Rs. 3 lakhs being paid under Accident Relief Fund scheme has been enhanced to Rs. 10 lakhs w.e.f 01.01.2024 in order to provide greater financial assistance to the dependents of the deceased passengers. Under this revised compensation scheme, till now a compensation of Rs.10.00 lakhs has been provided to the dependents of one passenger, today an accident compensation cheque of Rs.10.00 lakhs each is being given to the dependents of four deceased passengers.

1. On 09.01.2024, bus bearing number KA11 F 0307 of Malavalli Depot of Mandya Division, met with an accident and Mr. Mohammad Moheen, aged 16
years, a passenger of bus died. Accident compensation amount cheque was distributed to his mother Mrs. Gulnaz Ghatima.
2. On 08.02.2024 bus bearing number KA19 F 3124 of 3rd Depot of Mangalore Division, met with an accident and Mr. Bhimappa Gadadi, aged 35 years, a
passenger of bus died. Accident compensation amount cheque was distributed to his wife Mrs. Saraswati Gadadi.
3. On 18.02.2024 bus bearing number KA17 F 1356 of 1st Depot of Davangere Division, met with an accident and Smt. Halamma, aged 51 years, a
passenger of bus died. Accident compensation amount cheque was distributed to her husband Mr. Shivrudraiah.
4. On 22.04.2024 bus bearing number KA19 F 3149 of Dharmasthala Depot, Puttur Division, met with an accident and Mr. B.T Manjunath, aged 68 years, a
passenger of bus died. Accident compensation amount cheque was distributed to his wife Mrs. Netravati G.S.
