3 Karnataka Battalion NCC under Group ‘A’, Bengaluru conducted  Cleaning of Lalbagh Lake in Bengaluru  on 22 Sep 2022 from 1100hrs to 1300hrs under Puneet Sagar Abhiyan to mark the 75th year of Independence  which  is   a nationwide flagship programme of the National Cadet Corps aimed at educating people to clean seashores, rivers, lakes  and other water bodies of plastic and other waste materials.

            The Abhiyan was flagged off by Group Commander Col Basant Singh, ‘A’ Group  Bengaluru along with Lt Col Damodaran PP, Commanding Officer 3Karnataka Battalion. Total 481 Cadets from various institutions of ‘A’ Group, Bengaluru participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The cadets interacted with  local population and spread the awareness on importance of keeping our water bodies free of plastic and other waste.  The cadets collected 60kgs of plastic and other waste and handed  over to Mr.Sunil, representative of Shakti Plastic,  which is doing a  social service to the people by producing various products from recycled plastic.

            The event was graced by Ms.Yamuna Srinidhi, Famous TV & Movie artist and  an NCC alumni. representative from Department of Horticulture, Officers, PermanentInstructor Staff, Associate NCC Officers and Cadets.  The Group Commander appreciated the Cadets for their enthusiasm and whole hearted participation for making the event a grand  success.
