3 day IME Freedom Festival kicks off

Stellar performances by maestros of Indian Music mark Day 1 of IME’s ‘Freedom Festival’

Freedom Festival by Indian Music Experience Museum (IME) was inaugurated by ——. The three-day classical and folk music festival featuring highly decorated Indian musicians from the Karnatic, Hindustani and Folk genres is being held in celebration of India’s platinum year of independence in partnership with Carnatica, Banglanatak and Karnataka Janapada Parishat. The inaugural day of the musical extravaganza held at MLR Convention Centre saw memorable performances of Karnataka Folk, Dollu Kunitha followed by Carnatic concerts by vocalist Shri R K Padmanabha and vocalist Shri. Sandeep Narayan. The highlight of the day was a special performance by Padma Vibhushan Dr. Umayalpuram Sivaraman an exponent of the Carnatic percussion instrument, the mridangam.The second day’s performances will also be held at MLR Convention and the final day’s performances, which will be held at IME.
